POLICY & REFORM
The NSW Aboriginal Land Rights Association is founded upon the principal of upholding the purpose of the NSW Aboriginal Land Rights Act 1983.
We do this by Local Aboriginal Land Councils develop policies and procedures aligned to the law and their members cultural ways.

We specialise in empowering LALC members to play a key role in developing their own housing and governance policies that work for within their own boundaries.

We are driven by our reactive and proactive response to grassroots community organising.

NSWALRA Inc promotes the involvement of our people in their Local Aboriginal Land Councils through attending members meetings and voting in elections. We aim to increasing the voting turnout of LALC members for the upcoming NSWALC Councillor elections in 2023.
NCAT REPRESENTATION
NSWALRA Inc have represented up to 30 Aboriginal Housing tenants with a success rate that rivals publicly funded service providers. We fill the need where a service gap is identified. It doesn't matter where you live or who you rent with, we all deserve a quality home to live in.

We specialise in the providing our people an effective evidence based argument in relation to the of the NSW Residential Tenancy Act 2010, NSW Aboriginal Land Rights Act 1983 and NSW Aboriginal Housing Act 1998.

SUSTAINABLE TENANCY MANAGEMENT PROGRAM
NSWALRA Inc provide wrap around support to Aboriginal Housing tenants at risk of homelessness.
We believe improving relationships between landlord and tenant is key to maintaining and sustaining tenancies.
Our Sustainable Tenancy Management Program is tailored to Aboriginal Housing Tenants and has ensured up to 20 families have remained housed since engaging in our program.
CONSULTANTS

REPATRIATION PROJECT
NSWALC Inc advocates the return of sacred objects to its Tribal Custodians. To assist in this space, NSWALRA Inc purchases sacred Aboriginal artifacts from Private Collections across Australia and the world for research, archiving and repatriation.

NSWALRA Inc has facilitated the repatriation of two sacred artifacts from NSW and SA and we have a further two undergoing research and repatriation.
